The day began with us meeting Ashley Backunas, a former Branching Out Leader, from the 2017 Summer Field Team. We met her in the Charlestown Navy Yard, and went over the agenda for the day. Then we reviewed who’s doing what and when. The Reunion was held in Quarter’s C in the Charlestown Navy Yard and began around, 1:00 p.m. and end around 4:00 p.m. on January 13, 2018. The Reunion was facilitated by the School Year Ambassadors. Connor led the charge, by meeting people at the door and directing them where to place their food if they brought something. Then around 1:30, the event formally started. Then, Connor gathered everyone’s attention and asked everyone to do introductions. Joel, begin his game of Kahoot shortly after the introductions. Kahoot, is an online quiz game where anyone can come up with questions with answers , and then have their friends or guest compete to see who is the most knowledgeable(or lucky) on the given topic. Joel crafted the game, with all sort of Branching Out and National Park Service related questions. The guest’s then played a game, led by Song where you had to integrate two words into a story and have other guess which words were the secret words. The game is much more fun than it may sound, especially if there are some uncommon words you have to use. Ardo then led the group in a poetry slam. She used all different words related to the School Year Ambassadors, and National Park Service. It was entertaining to see how people wanted to write each of their poems, and some of the guests were inclined to share their poems. Once people where finished sharing the event was wrapped up. Then The School Year Ambassadors thanked everyone for coming.
