Hi there, We would like to introduce ourselves. We are the New York City school year ambassadors. Our returning ambassadors are Salamatu Issah and Ehab Almudhalaa. Our new School Year Ambassadors are Tyrese Davis(also a 2017 field team member), Joshua Rogers and Jaden Terrell. We’re very excited to learn more about landscape preservation and were looking forward to develop all of our professionalism skills in the work place. Hello my name is Salamatu Issah I am from the country Ghana. I am a sophomore at Stephen T. Mather High School. This is my second year doing Branching out school year program and I have to say I truly enjoy being apart of the program. I live in the Bronx and I have two older sisters. My favorite food is Jollof rice.When I am done with school I want to become an interior designer or a pharmacist depending where life takes me. Dancing is one of my hobbies, and I am very good at social media. I love taking pictures and posting my photos on Facebook, Snap chat and Instagram. I also love going shopping and going out with my friends. I an very interested in meeting new people and interacting with people is a piece of cake for me, I am really a peoples person. I do makeup, I love doing makeup because I get to express how I feel on my face, and I am pretty good at it and take a lot of pride in it. In fact I do peoples makeup for a charge and sometimes I even do it for free. Thank you for taking the time to meet me.
Hello my name is Ehab Almudhalaa and I am 18 years old. I live in East Harlem, New York and I am currently a senior in Stephen T. Mather High School in New York City. I’m a returning school year ambassador. I decided to reapply for the Branching Out Program because I learned a lot of landscaping techniques that I never knew about before. During Branching Out I enjoyed traveling to Boston, MA and New Hampshire with my team and the Boston team. My plans for the future after high school are going to college for Architecture or Forensic science. My hobbies include paint balling, flying drones, driving, school clubs and hanging out with my friends. Well I don’t have a favorite food, but I enjoy many types of food; Like Middle Eastern, Dominican dishes and Mexican food. My favorite subjects are economics and environmental science. I hope that branching out will help me standout to the National Park Service and learn even more about what the service has to offer.
Hi my name is Tyrese Davis and I am 17 years old. I’m currently a senior at Mather High School in Manhattan New York City. I grew up in Bronx, NY, but I have also lived in Connecticut and Georgia. My favorite foods are cheeseburgers and fries. I come from a Jamaican household and I love spending time with my family. My hobbies consist of school clubs, hanging with friends, ice-skating and staying active. In the future I plan to go to college and major in Architectural Design and Psychology. I am very outgoing person and I like to learn new things. This is my first year being a school year ambassador, but I have previously participated on the Branching Out Summer Field Team this past summer. Branching Out is definitely a program that I’m proud to be apart of because it has taught me a lot of hands on skills and knowledge in the field of landscape stewardship.
My name is Joshua Rogers and I am 15 year old 10th grader at Stephen T. Mather in Manhattan, New York City. I live in Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy making music and playing sports in my free time. I been apart in Branching Out program for a little less than a month now, but this will be my first year in the Branching Out program. My favorite foods are chicken and rice. I like to play basketball and football with my friends in my free time. I live in New York City, but I’m originally from Los Angles California. I move to New York when I was 9 and I adapted to the culture and the weather here very fast. I really like it here and I’m looking forward to the Branching Out Program this year. I want to work on building strong social and communication skills so that I have what it takes to become a leader.
My name is Jaden Terrell I am 15, years old and I live in Harlem, New York City. I go to Stephen T. Mather Craftsmanship high school. Some of my hobbies include playing basketball and chilling with my friends. My favorite foods are cheeseburger and french fries. I am in the 10th grade and am currently talking landscape management. During my 9th grade year I took Historic Preservation. These are my favorite Career and Technical Education classes offered at Mather high school. We often go on trips to different National Park Service Sites and do many different types of field work that often requires us to get down and dirty, which I really enjoy.
