Canoeing on the Concord River!

On Saturday October the 24th, the school year ambassadors held a canoeing event in the Concord river at the Minute Man National Park. The school year ambassadors planned the event to go canoeing and leaf picking for a leaf pressing activity back at the Navy Yard. For some of us it was the first time going canoeing, but most of us had an idea of how to canoe. At first it was really hard and tiring but after you get the hang of it, it became pretty easy. We took like about 1 hours to get to the minute man bridge because we were all struggling to keep the canoe straight. At the end of the day it was a good experience. When we got to the North Bridge, we stopped for lunch and had an educational activity about leafs and the reason they change their color (trees stop making chlorophyll in the fall which is what gives leafs a green color) and collected leafs for a leaf pressing activity. Once we were back in the Navy Yard, we got set up to work on leaf pressing which served people as souvenirs for the event. Lastly we created a collage of leafs that people collected. We spent an amazing day together.
