Hi Everyone,
Not everyone knows this but I recently just finished my second internship with The Branching Out Program. I have to say it has been a wonderful journey. I have learned an incredible amount of things during the duration of these pass three years. What amazes me the most is the range from of different things I have learned from: all types of tool safety, how to say plant names in Latin, to why at least two dozen National Sites are important to the history of the Country. Most of all during my time working with Branching Out I learned what I am really interested in doing with the rest of my life. Being a part of Branching Out shaped me in many different ways. This programs helped me to discover what I wanted to learn in college which had an influence of the major I chose.
What Now?
Now what, Well for the Summer of 2014 I will be working as a Youth Leader to Youth Conservation Corps members at Longfellow, Kennedy and Olmsted Sites. This will be my first time having the opportunity to lead a group of youth to maintain landscapes and I’m very excited about it. 🙂 🙂
Uriah, I am so excited to have the chance to work with you this summer. Amy
