Geocaching

Branching Out headed outside last weekend to explore the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown and learn about GPS/GIS devices through the activity, Geocaching. Geocaching is a community-based scavenger hunt activity that uses GPS to locate hidden tresures or ‘caches’, throughout a given area.

Participants learned the importance of using GPS/GIS to manage landscapes and that this particular skill could eventually lead to a career. See some examples here:
