To help youth prepare their resumes to apply for an summer job, Branching Out in collaboration with Emerald Necklace Conservancy and Franklin Park Zoo hosted a resume and job skills workshop. The workshop was tailored for high school students interested in obtaining a summer work opportunity in the environmental and conservation fields.
The workshop reviewed and introduced participants to a variety of ways to format and structure their resumes to highlight their work experiences and skills. Participants also had the opportunity to meet with program managers to gain feedback on how to discuss their work experiences during an interview.
Youth walked away from the workshop with a better understanding of what experiences and skills employers are seeking in an applicant and how to make their resume stand out from the crowd.
